Settling in...to HOME.

Backdated - September 12:  The first week or so home went very well - adjustments from all as we grew to a family of four, but so incredibly blessed.

We survived the first night as a family of four, but needed a nap before noon.  Dan went into work for half a day that Friday, but Grandma Kathy was home with us to help out.  Thomas just climbed up on my legs here and fell asleep.  Precious.

Everyone was happy to see Daddy when he got home!

Love her in this rock n' play!

Thomas and Mom time...

Tummy time...  She liked it!

Squishy cheeks anyone?!

Missing the picture of all of us, but our first official outing was to none other than APPLEBEES!  Allie slept the whole time, Dan ordered endless ribs, and I had myself some good ol' southern cooked mac n' cheese :).  Thomas and Grandma Sherri had cheeseburgers!

This isn't so bad...

What?!

Nap time for some of us... :)

Zzzzzzzz....

LOVE this picture of Thomas and my mom.  He's pretty blessed to have such a beautiful grandmother.

Being a week old is HARD work.

I sleep anywhere.  Period.  Love it.

I can't get enough of this kid.

Going HOME!!

Backdated - September 11:  Because I had strep B, we had to stay in the hospital for a full 48 hours after Allie's birth.  As soon as the doctor gave us the green light, we were out of there - and not without Thomas's help!  At exactly 6:33 pm (exactly 48 hours after Allie was born) we walked out of the OB doors.

Thomas was on the run!

Daddy making sure Allie was safe :).

"I don't know about this, Mom..."
-Thomas

"I'm not so sure about this either, Mom and Dad!"
-Allie

We weren't quite sure about it either...
(not in the picture - Thomas and Allie in the back seat!)

Grandma Kathy and Bernie (and a special sign made by Thomas on the door) were there to greet us - through the rain and all!

Thomas was not only excited to show Allie our new house, but he was really excited to show Dan and I his new barn he got from Grandma Kathy!  It used to be Dan's and his brothers when they were little.  Pretty cool.

"YAY!!  I'm home!"
-Allie

Just another warm welcome...

Official family photo - with Bernie, too!

Chillin' in the Hospital...

Backdated - September 10 & 11:  We spent time chillin' in the hospital from Tuesday night to Thursday night and loved every minute relaxing with our baby girl and having Thomas and Grandma Kathy keep us company.

Allie Lynn Huitink - named by her Grandpa Terry and sharing her middle name with Grandma Sherri...
8 lbs 1.6 oz
20.5 inches long

First family photo :)

He loved touching her face (and still does!)...

Getting some Thomas and Mommy time in - playing games on the iPad.

Allie slept well - and we prayed she would continue!

His new "CHEESE!"

Daddy's girl...SO incredibly precious.

Thomas colored Allie a special picture and brought it to her on Wednesday morning.  He was really excited to give it to her!  She was thrilled.

Too cute.  Can she stay this little forever?

Thomas and Daddy starting to enjoy our special "stork" meal of prime rib and chicken cordon bleu.  It was as delicious as it could be from the hospital cafeteria.  Thomas loved all the fresh fruit!

Aunt Nikki came to visit...ROCK ON!  "Pway wit me, Aunt Nikki!"

Miss Mary came, too...and showed Thomas all the cool things the hospital table could do!

Thomas and Daddy time - watching MICKEY.

I have a picture like this with Thomas and it's my favorite - this one is one of my favorites of Allie and me, too!

I quickly learned to order my meals from the cafeteria with Thomas in mind as he thought he was in seventh heaven with all this food (fresh fruit, peas, chicken, shredded cheese, apple sauce, and yogurt, too!).

Thomas loved to lay by Allie from the get-go.  What a GREAT big brother!

"I'm not happy, Mom!"

Allie all bundled up - ready to go home.

Thomas came back to help us take Allie home.  He was pumped to show her our "new house!"

See ya later, Pella Regional Hospital.  Thanks for everything!!
