The Much Anticipated Transition - Hotel to HOME :)

Backdated - August 29:  The time had finally come - after a few day delays of the truck with all our stuff arriving, we were told that August 27 would be "the day"!!  We were able to get the keys to our house officially on Sunday, August 24, though - so the following are a few pics from our "house preparation..."

Tman "working"...

Thomas taking his first official nap in his "new room".  He looks so big in his pack n' play!

Yes, you guessed it.  Thomas's babysitter for a while was the movie CARS...you do what you gotta do sometimes!

"Aunt Nikki" and "Miss Mary" so kindly made a quick Sunday afternoon trip down from Iowa City specifically just to paint Thomas's new room.  What color did he choose?  John Deere Green!  Love it and them!

And I put them to work on an extra wall, just because they are "that good."  And you guessed it again...we can't have a house without a chalkboard wall!  This is in our kitchen - a perfect place for more tractors and trucks :).

And our first meal in our new house together was Pizza Ranch pizza - deserving of a thumb's up!

But needless to say, we had a few days in the hotel left.  This is Thomas on our final morning - watching cartoons and chilling on Grandma Kathy's pull-out bed.  He was pretty comfy.

It wouldn't have been right to leave the hotel without properly thanking Miss Lisa for cooking us our delicious breakfast for over two weeks.  Thomas made her a thank you poster - Lightening McQueen stickers and all!

Thomas wasn't quite ready to leave the Country Inn & Suites - but he didn't have a choice!

Grandma Kathy and Thomas waiting for the truck to arrive...

...and breaking in his new toy room, too!

It's here!!

And Word World might have babysat Thomas for a bit on the first days following the arrival of the truck as well :).  Bernie couldn't be more excited!

Breaking in the new basement...  "Look, Mom!  I can run lots down here!"  And he can apparently "tow" his dump truck with his John Deere, too.

Grandma Kathy stayed with us as we began the unpacking process as well as continued the baby arrival waiting, too.  Thomas and her enjoyed a few walks while she was here!

One of the boxes was labeled "Kitchen Toys" and we couldn't figure out what might be in there.  But after unpacking, a box FULL of monster trucks flowed out.  Aunt Shannon and the boys (Konnor, Hunter, and Quinn) left Thomas toys in our Phoenix kitchen so when the packers packed them up, of course they would label the box as "Kitchen Toys."  Thomas was thrilled!  SO fun.

Kathy was a huge help - both with Thomas and with unpacking.  Here are Dan and Kathy digging through already unpacked boxes for parts of our lamps we may had just "thrown away" with the recyclable stuff.  Oops!
